Heavy rain during the night has caused flooding on some roadways throughout the region.

The National Weather Service said up to two inches of rain in some parts of the region.

A flood advisory is in effect in the immediate Philadelphia area until midnight for heavy rain today and tonight. A flood warning is in effect along the Shore and the Delaware Bay.

Of course, among the flooded roadways was the Admiral Wilson Boulevard in Camden, which was closed several times last week because of high water.

Route 130 also was flooded in spots north of the Airport Circle.

Route 291 in Ridley Township south of the Philadelphia International Airport was closed due to high water as was River Road in Solebury Township.

Flooding also was reported on the Delsea Drive in Westville and Franklin Township.

As for the Admiral Wilson Boulevard, a $7.8 million project, which is currently under way, is aimed at alleviating flooding on the roadway, which borders the Cooper River.

But even when it's completed in November, the drainage system will not be able to prevent flooding completely, officials have acknowledged.
