Doreen Cuffie, 45, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, arson and related offenses.

Last Friday morning, police said Cuffie got into an argument with her 39-year-old friend in Cuffie's apartment on the 800 block of S. 16th St. Cuffie then threw a flammable liquid into the other woman's face, then ignited the liquid.

The victim was hospitalized in critical but stable condition with second- and third-degree burns on her face, neck and hands. She is expected to recover from her injuries, police said.
