Power restored to most of region

Work crews had restored power to most affected homes Sunday morning, after strong winds swept through the region Saturday causing outages to more than 30,000 homes.

By 6 a.m. Sunday, about 6,000 homes still lacked power, with outages scattered throughout the city and suburbs, said Fred Mayer, spokesman for Peco Energy.

In Jersey, 1,800 remained without power Sunday morning, said Lee Gray, a spokeswoman for PSE&G.

Officials said they expected to fully restore power by midnight Sunday.
