Roadwork, run, regatta to shut Kelly Drive, Platt Bridge
Motorists will find themselves inconvenienced today at two spots in the city: a stretch of Kelly Drive just south of Roosevelt Boulevard, and an area near the South Philadelphia sports complex, including the Platt Bridge.

Beginning tomorrow, another section of Kelly Drive will close for three days.
At 10 a.m. today in South Philadelphia, the Law Enforcement Memorial Run will start near the Navy Yard, head north on Broad Street, turn west on Pattison Avenue, take Penrose Avenue across the Platt Bridge, continue north on Island Avenue, then go west on Bartram Avenue to the city limits.
The Platt Bridge and ramps from I-76 and I-95 will close until the runners pass.
From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today, Kelly Drive between Hunting Park Avenue and South Ferry Road (near Roosevelt Boulevard), will be closed in both directions for roadwork.
Martin Luther King Drive is an alternate route for those who would normally use Kelly Drive. Motorists heading north on Kelly Drive will be detoured to Henry and Midvale Avenues, before returning to Kelly Drive. The detour for southbound drivers involves Ferry Road, Ridge Avenue and 33d Street, which becomes Sedgley Drive.
From 10 a.m. tomorrow to 8 Saturday night, Kelly Drive will be closed between Strawberry Mansion Drive and Fountain Green Drive because of the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, featuring high school rowers from around the world.
Detour signs will be posted and police will be on hand to help motorists.
