Police find girl’s body in Schuylkill

Philadelphia police late Thursday afternoon located the body of a teenage girl who disappeared in the Schuylkill River near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

Philadelphia police late Thursday afternoon located the body of a teenage girl who disappeared in the Schuylkill River near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

The body of Princess Asia King, 15, was recovered from the river around 6 p.m. by the police Marine Unit.

Shortly before 11 a.m., two joggers passing the bridge in Fairmount Park noticed three teens in the water who appeared to be in distress, said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman.

They helped two of the teens out of the water, Little said. The last teen, King, was seen disappearing under the water. The other two teens, reportedly boys, ran off.

Police found a bag on the river bank that contained girl's clothes and perfume, Little said.
