Firefighters rescue 2 at W. Phila. blaze

Three people were displaced by a fire today in a West Philadelphia rowhouse.

Arriving firefighters plucked two of the residents from the porch roof of the home on the 1400 block of North 55th Street.

The cause of the fire, which firefighters quickly brought under control, is under investigation.

Three people left homeless by the fire are being given shelter at Red Cross House, the disaster agency said.
