A NJ Transit Atlantic City Line passenger train fatally struck a trespasser today in a wooded area just east of the Atco station in Camden County, a spokesman said.

The westbound train to Philadelphia hit the person shortly after midday, spokesman Dan Stessel said. None of the 100 passengers aboard were injured.

No other details were available on the identity of the victim.

Train no. 4620 left Atlantic City around 11:18 a.m., Stessel said.

Service on the line was disrupted during the investigation and some passengers had to take buses to get to their destinations or make connections.
