A 38-year-old man was shot and killed early today on a South Philadelphia street, police said.

Officers responding to a report of gunfire found the man at Wolf and Colorado Streets about 1:05 a.m., police said. He had been shot multiple times.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:24 a.m.

Police radio broadcast an alert for a thin man in a white shirt who fled in a dark SUV after the shooting.

At the scene, a neighborhood of row homes and narrow streets, chalk markings on the street indicated that Crime Scene investigators indicated at least 10 shots were fired.

Relatives of the victim also were at the scene this morning, but said they did not want to talk and one woman threatened a reporter.
