Boy, 6, shot three times in North Philadelphia

A six-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot three times this afternoon in the Hunting Park section of North Philadelphia.

Police said an unknown gunman fired at least four shots about 4:20 p.m. on the 1300 block of West Pike Street. Three of the bullets struck the child's left arm. Another shot hit a 25-year-old man in the left leg, police said.

The boy and the man, who police did not name, were taken to Temple University Hospital. Investigators believe the gunman fled in a white Jeep Cherokee in the direction of Roosevelt Boulevard.
