2 bikers killed in crashes in Phila.

Two motorcyclists were killed today in separate crashes in Philadelphia, officials said.

Two motorcyclists were killed today in separate crashes in Philadelphia, officials said.

The first occurred about 6 a.m. on I-95 North near the Girard Avenue exit, when a 58-year-old man riding a Harley Davidson slammed into that rear of a car that had slowed because of a disabled vehicle in the left lane, State Police said.

The man, a Philadelphia resident who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital, police said.

At about 9 a.m. another motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an SUV on Lehigh Avenue and Howard Streets in Kensington, authorities said.

Police side the biker was travelling at a high rate of speed and hit the SUV in the intersection.
