Atlantic City police have arrested 40 women in a weekend sweep targeting prostitution in the casino resort, authorities said today.
Two dozen of those arrested in the operation Saturday night and Sunday morning gave out-of-state addresses, including Dallas, Las Vegas and Seattle, and those charged ranged in age from 18 to 48, police said.
Police said they arrested another 23 people in a "quality of life" sweep Thursday, including eight women on charges of prostitution.
The weekend enforcement effort focused on hookers working on Pacific Avenue or in casinos, police said.
