A Chester County man was on law-enforcement's radar when the vehicle in which he was riding was stopped Tuesday, West Chester police said this morning.
West Chester Police Chief Scott L. Bohn said officers pulled over a 2005 Dodge Magnum on Route 322 in East Bradford Township at 12:08 p.m., prompting Willie Suber 4th, 28, of Coatesville, to exit and run.
The driver, Preston L. Barron, 22, and William M. Twyman, 24, a passenger, both of Coatesville, were arrested at the scene. Suber, who had a kilo of cocaine in his possession, was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, Bohn said.
The arrests generated several search warrants, which were executed in Coatesville and West Chester at residences linked to Suber, Bohn said. He said "a large amount" of money, two semi-automatic handguns, multiple ounces of cocaine, marijuana, and drug-trafficking paraphernalia were seized.
Bohn praised the cooperation and resources that have been expended during a months-long effort to reduce drug-trafficking - and violent crime - in Chester County. Officers from West Chester, Coatesville, the Chester County High-Intensity Drug-Trafficking Agency and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency, were involved in Tuesday's arrests, he said.
Barron and Twyman were later released, and Suber was taken into custody by DEA agents, Bohn said. Additional information on his status was not available.
