A driver was killed and five other people hurt in a collision between a car and a van in Wilmington late Wednesday, police said.
Delaware State Police said a Chevrolet Astro Van driven by Johnathan E. Collins, 25, was eastbound on Lancaster Pike about 10:06 p.m. when it slammed into a Chevrolet Cavalier that was making a left hand turn from Court Drive onto the westbound lanes of the pike.
The driver of the Cavalier, Regelio Pena-Vasquez, 23, was killed, and three men in his car were injured, police said.
Collins and a passenger also were injured.
The five people hurt in the crash were taken to Christiana for treatment of what were described as various non-life threatening injuries.
The occupants of both vehicles all were wearing seat belts.
Investigators are awaiting the result of an autopsy on Pena-Vasquez, whose address was unknown.
