Police seek man in 3 attacks on women near Center City

Police are looking for a middle aged man who sexually assaulted one woman, groped another and tried to grab a third in the same neighborhood near Center City on Saturday night.

Police are looking for a middle aged man who sexually assaulted one woman, groped another and tried to grab a third in the same neighborhood near Center City within 90 minutes on Saturday night.

The assailant, who may be homeless, is white, in his 50s, with unkempt gray facial hair and long blonde-gray hair, according to descriptions provided by the victims. He wore a dark cap and dark clothing.

In two of the incidents, victims reported hearing jangling keys as the assailant approached.

The attacks occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. on the 300 block of North 10th Street, the 300 block of North 11th Street and the 900 block of Vine Street, the Special Victims Unit said.

In the first incident, a 24-year-old woman jumped into her car and locked the doors when a man who was fondling himself approached. The man tried to open the door but could not.

About 30 minutes later, a 31-year-old woman entering her apartment building with a child was pushed to the floor and sexually assaulted by a man who followed her. The assailant fled when she screamed.

At 9 p.m., a man approached a 24-year-old woman and grabbed her buttocks before fleeing.
