Two 35th District police officers responding to a dispatch call crashed into a civilian vehicle this afternoon in the intersection of Ogontz and W. Godfrey Avenues.

Both officers and the civilian driver were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where each was listed in stable condition, police said. No other information on the nature of their injuries was available.

The two officers were responding to another officer's assist call with their lights and sirens engaged at the time of the crash, about 1:15 p.m., officials said. The nature of the original assist call was not immediately clear.

The crash was severe enough to trigger the airbags in the officers' car.
