Police ID suspect in Chester double homicide

Police have identified a man wanted in the slayings of two men in Chester in September.

Police have identified a man wanted in the slayings of two men in Chester in September.

Brian "Itchy" Selby, 40, is sought for the murders of Tyrone Thompson, 27, and his 19-year-old nephew, Jeffrey Joyner, police said.

Police said Selby should be considered armed and dangerous. He is known to frequent the troubled Highland Gardens neighborhood in Chester.

Just before midnight on Sept. 5, Thompson and Joyner were gunned down as they walked in the 2700 block of Kane Street. Police found the men lying in the street near where they lived. The two had recently moved to the area from North Carolina. Police have said they do not believe the two were involved in any crimes.

In mid-September, the Delaware County District Attorney's Office filed court papers requesting that a grand jury be summoned to investigate "a number of very public unsolved homicides" in Chester, including the case involving the two men.

The U.S. Marshal Service is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to Selby's arrest.
