Man, 36, critical following E. Germantown shooting

A 36-year-old man was shot and critically wounded Thursday night in East Germantown, police said.

A 36-year-old man was shot and critically wounded Thursday night in East Germantown, police said.

Officers responding to a report of a shooting found the victim at West Champlost and North 19th Streets about 11:46 p.m., police said.

The man, who had been shot multiple times in the chest and back, was taken in a patrol car to Albert Einstein Medical Center and immediately went into surgery.

He was reported in critical condition this morning.

A motive for the shooting is not yet known, but police broadcast an alert for a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt who was last seen running towards Stenton Avenue.
