A $10,000 reward is being offered for the capture of a man wanted on charges of shooting and wounding Police Officer Kevin Gorman last Friday in North Philadelphia.

Police are seeking Naisul Martinez, 20, of the 2800 block of North Lee Street, North Philadelphia, in the attack.

Gorman and his partner stopped a speeding silver Mercury Marquis with four men inside about 2:30 a.m. at Westmoreland and Hope Streets, police said. Three of the men stayed in the car, but one bolted out a back door, prompting Gorman to give chase.

As Gorman climbed a fence on the 3300 block of North Howard Street, two shots rang out, on of them hitting the officer in the shoulder.

Gorman was treated at Temple University Hospital and released about 2 1/2 hours after he was shot.

The three other men in the car were released after questioning.

Anyone with information about Martinez's whereabouts should call the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 / 3335 or call 911.

The money for the reward is being posted by the Fraternal Order of Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.
