Car with bullet holes, wires causes alarm in Old City

Police officers on patrol in Old City stopped this morning beneath the Ben Franklin Bridge and radioed for a supervisor when they saw a black Audi sedan with pocked with bullet holes and its side windows apparently shot out.

On closer inspection, they reported that they did not see anything inside the vehicle but noted it had wires running from the trunk into the dash board of the car sitting on Florist Street near 2nd Street.

The officers were about to close the street and call the bomb squad when a security officer walked over and offered an explanation.

The car, he told them, was a movie prop.

The film, Safe, a Jason Statham thriller, wrapped Thursday night after shooting in the city in recent weeks.
