Police make quick arrests in Francisville stabbing

Quick police work led to the arrest of a man and woman this morning in a stabbing minutes earlier in an apartment in North Philadelphia's Francisville section.

Quick police work led to the arrest of a man and woman this morning in a stabbing minutes earlier in an apartment in North Philadelphia's Francisville section.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was taken in critical condition to Hahnemann University Hospital.

The drama started to unfold at 6:35 a.m., when Ninth District police officers responded to a 911 call for a stabbing on the 800 block of North Broad Street, near Brown Street.

There they found the victim on the street, bleeding from wounds to the back of the head and neck suffered in an knife attack in his apartment, police said.

The officers soon broadcast an alert for a black Jaguar with Pennsylvania license plate, GNA-3274.

Other Ninth District officers spotted car just blocks away on the 1700 block of Francis Street and arrested a 37-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man.

Both were taken to Central Detectives, where they are expected to be charged today.

Police have not yet provided information about the circumstances of the shooting.
