Police are investigating a report from a woman who said she was raped and choked until she passed out in Kensington Wednesday night, but said today it is too soon to link it to other assaults in the neighborhood.

The woman told police that around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man choked her until she lost consciousness near the intersection of Kensington Avenue and E. Orleans Street. When she awoke, she said her pants were down and she believed she had been sexually assaulted.

On Thursday morning she called police, who began investigating.

She described her attacker as Hispanic and having some facial hair, which is consistent with the description that has been given for a man suspected in three other attacks on women in recent months. The location of the attack is close to the locations of earlier assaults.
