A two-alarm fire early Sunday at Brittany Commons on Dunbarton Road in Mount Laurel destroyed six units and severely damaged others, but no one was hurt, fire officials said.
Residents of 20 condominiums were forced to leave their homes following the blaze, which started around 3 a.m. in the 4700 building. Rescuers from four fire stations evacuated the building because of the threat of collapse.
The cause of the fire, which burned out part of the roof, was unknown. Some residents were able to retrieve belongings and the Red Cross was arranging for emergency accommodations.
