Ex- U.S. Mint employee pleads to bilking $750,000
A Delaware County man, who was employed at the United States Mint, pleaded guilty Thursday to mail fraud, wire fraud and making false statements to the government, the U. S. Attorney announced.

Michael Walker, 51, of Upper Darby, was a inventory management specialist in the supply department at the Mint between 1998 and 2006. According to the U. S. attorney, Walker caused the Mint to buy more than $750,000 in office supplies from KLH Enterprises, a Bucks County company where he also worked and had a financial interest.
According to the U. S. Attorney, Walker made purchases using credit cards and false information on requisitions forms. He also circumvented a competitive bidding process.
Walker tried to coverup his employment and the gifts he received from KLH by lying to investigators, according to the U. S. Attorney.
