Will someone collect bin Laden bounty?

As the most wanted man in the world, Osama bin Laden had a price on his head to match.

As the most wanted man in the world, Osama bin Laden had a price on his head to match.

A total of $27 million had been offered for information leading to the capture of the al-Qaeda leader.

There is no word yet on whether anyone will collect the bounty, but the fact that the Navy Seals who killed bin Laden went to a targeted location raises the possibility that someone betrayed the terrorist leader.

Most of the reward money - $25 million - had been posted by the State Department while the remainder was put up by the Airline Pilots Association and the Air Transport Association.

The FBI in the meantime has put "Deceased" on the picture of bin Laden on the agency's 10 Most Wanted list.

The betting is bin Laden's photo will be replaced with that of his No. 2, Ayman al-Zawahiri.
