Man shot to death in North Philadelphia

A young man, possibly in his teens, was shot to death Thursday night in North Philadelphia, police said.

The shooting occurred about 9:10 p.m. near Fifth and York Streets. Initial police radio reports said that the victim was shot in the head and that a person was seen leaving the area.

The victim, whose name police did not release, was pronounced dead at the spot.   - Tom Infield
