Drowning victim, 3, identified

The 3-year-old Delaware County girl who drowned Saturday in a Newtown Square pool has been identified.

Joan Elizabeth Logan, 3, of Bryn Mawr, was found in the "middle pool" of the St. Alban's Swim and Tennis Club, located at 160 Brookside Avenue. The pool is about three to four feet deep. Her death was ruled accidental, according to the Montgomery County coroner.

When emergency responders arrived just before 5 p.m., lifeguards were performing CPR on the child. Logan later died at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
