A man was shot and killed this afternoon in South Philadelphia's Point Breeze section, police said.

The victim, said to be 23-years-old, was shot once each in the chest, groin and mouth about 12:45 p.m. at South Chadwick and Reed Streets, police said.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at 1:09 p.m., police said.

A motive for the shooting is not clear yet.
