Murder-suicide near Quakertown

Authorities believe an elderly Bucks County man shot his wife, who was sick, and then turned the gun on himself in an apparent murder suicide.

Leroy Clymer, 92, and his wife, Kathryn, 87, were pronounced dead at their home in Richland Township on Sunday evening, said Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler.

"We understand the wife had serious health problems," Heckler said. "It was clearly a murder suicide."

Police were summoned to the home by an "abandoned 911 call," Heckler said. Authorities believe Clymer made the call to insure he and his wife would be found.
