Police have released a description of man wanted for questioning in a vandalism spree that has left three dozen statues damaged outside Roman Catholic churches in Camden and Burlington County.
He is described as a thin white man in is late 20s or early 30s, about 6 feet tall, with shoulder-length, wavy brown hair.
He was seen driving an older-model tan or beige sedan with square tail lights, possibly an import, police said.
The man was seen Thursday night outside St. Joan of Arc Church in Evesham Township before statues there were discovered to have been damaged, police said.
Statutes outside six churches in the bordering towns of Cherry Hill, Mount Laurel and Evesham have been targeted in a spree that began a week ago and has caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
Cherry Hill police have branded the vandalism a bias crime.
