Delco man charged with posting sex video of ex-lover

A Newtown Square man, depressed over a breakup with his girlfriend, allegedly posted a sex tape of the couple on the Internet because he was "trying to be hateful," he allegedly told police.

Christopher Thomas Scott, 20, of the 200 block of Aronimink Drive, was arrested Monday and charged with selling, designing, and producing sexual materials; harassment; and drug-related charges. He was arraigned and released on $25,000 unsecured bail and could not be reached for comment. His attorney, Mark Much, did not return calls seeking comment.

According to court documents, the 24-year-old alleged victim in the case dated Scott for about six months and visited him at Stevenson University in Maryland.

According to her, Scott, a Marple Newtown High School graduate, continually asked her to "do things sexually with some of his friends." She declined.

In early 2010, Scott used his laptop webcam to record the couple having sex in his dorm room, police said. After reviewing the video, he asked her to do it again because she looked as though she weren't enjoying herself, according to court records.

The woman broke up with Scott shortly after he made the video.

She discovered the video had been posted on the Internet when her employer called her in, showed it to her, and she was asked to resign, according to court records.

She later learned the video had been posted on a number of sites. She told police that people began to harass her and that she received derogatory postings on her Facebook page, according to court documents.

On Oct. 4, police served a search warrant at Scott's home. Scott's mother was home at the time and said her son was "out to dinner with his new girlfriend and her parents," according to court documents.

Police said they confiscated a glass bong, marijuana, and other drug-related items, including a metal pipe with "love life" written on it.

Police said they found the video on Scott's MacBook Pro laptop. In addition, they said they found a pornographic image of a prepubescent girl and other files "with titles indicative of child pornography" on the computer, according to court documents.
