Man shot by police in N. Phila.

A police officer shot one of two armed men who ran from a car stop Friday night in North Philadelphia, police said.

A police officer shot one of two armed men who ran from a car stop Friday night in North Philadelphia, police said.

Two officers stopped the car in the area of 15th and Dauphin Streets shortly before 9 p.m., police said. The two occupants were armed and tried to flee.

One of the officers fired three times, striking one of the suspects. The wounded man was then transported to Temple University Hospital, police said. His condition was not immediately available.

The second man was apprehended in the area. Guns were recovered from both men, police said.

No officers were hurt.
