Man hit by SEPTA trolley

A 40-year-old man was rushed to a hospital after getting struck by a SEPTA trolley Thursday afternoon in Upper Darby, an agency spokesman said.

A 40-year-old man was rushed to a hospital after getting struck by a SEPTA trolley Thursday afternoon in Upper Darby, an agency spokesman said.

The accident occurred about 4:55 p.m. in the area of the Congress Avenue station said SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch. The man was trying to cross the tracks when he was struck by an eastbound Route 101 trolley.

He was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a head injury and some bone fractures, Busch said.

Eastbound service has resumed service after a delay for authroties to respond to the scene. The accident is under investigation.
