A 55-year-old man was shot at least twice Tuesday on his way to make a deposit at a Cheltenham bank.
Investigators believe Peter Ly was carrying a "large amount of cash" to the Woori America Bank branch on the 7500 block of Front Street, when he was approached by three men in a dark Volvo just before noon.
The men tried to force Ly into their car. When he resisted, they opened fire hitting him two or three times in the legs, Cheltenham Deputy Police Chief Kevin O'Brien said.
The suspects fled with the cash and were last spotted heading toward Philadelphia. Ly was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
Authorities urge anyone with information on the case to contact Cheltenham police at (215) 885-1600.
