Philly police seek thief who stole PlayStation at gunpoint

Police are looking for a thief who stole a PlayStation 3 and $250 in cash at gunpoint from a North Philadelphia video game store. The man walked into the Game Stop at 2900 N. Broad St., about 1 p.m. Monday and wandered around the store for about 20 minutes until one of the two clerks on duty went on break, police said.

The man walked into the Game Stop at 2900 N. Broad St., about 1 p.m. Monday and wandered around the store for about 20 minutes until one of the two clerks on duty went on break, police said.

The man then went to the counter armed with a handgun and demanded money and a PlayStation 3, police said.

The clerk put the cash register and a PlayStation on the counter, police said. The robber grabbed the cash and the game system before fleeing north on Broad Street.

Police have released a surveillance video from the store in an effort to identify the thief.

He is described as black male with a dark complexion, 20 to 30 years old, with light facial hair and a goatee. He is about 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weight 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a black hoody and faded black jeans.
