Police in Camden arrested 22 women on charges of prostitution and related offenses during a sweep last week, authorities said Monday.

The crackdown, dubbed Operation Corridor Sweep, was conducted Friday along the Broadway corridor from Martin Luther King Boulevard to Morgan Boulevard, according to Camden Mayor Dana L. Redd and Police Chief Scott Thomson. Most arrested hailed from towns outside the city, including Cherry Hill, West Deptford and Mount Holly, authorities said.

The women, ranging in age from 20 to 47, were referred to social service agencies for counseling, addiction treatment and other services, authorities said. — Darran Simon
