A plane flew around State College today pulling a sign saying, "TAKE THE STATUE DOWN OR WE WILL."
A plane flew around State College today pulling a sign saying, "TAKE THE STATUE DOWN OR WE WILL."
The statue in question is believed to be that of Penn State's legendary football coach Joe Paterno, whose image has been tarnished by the Freeh report into the university's handling of allegations of sexual assault by Paterno's former assistant Jerry Sandusky.
There is no indiction who the "WE" are who vow to take the statue down and apparently paid for the aerial advertisement.
The aerial ad follows a decision to rename the student tent city that appears outside Beaver Stadium during football season "Nittanyville" instead of "Paternoville."
