An Atlantic County woman faces a five-year prison term when she is sentenced in October in the death of a Vineland woman in a drunken driving crash last year.

Mary Pappas, 44, pleaded guilty on Monday to vehicular homicide for causing the July 30, 2011, crash that claimed the life of Joann Guzzi, 59, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.

Officials alleged that Pappas, of Buena Township, had a blood-alcohol level above .15 percent - nearly twice the legal limit - when she ran a stop sign and collided with Guzzi's vehicle.

Superior Court Judge James Swift is expected to send Pappas to prison for five years when she is sentenced Oct. 19, under the terms of plea deal.

Guzzi must serve four years and three months before becoming eligible for parole.
