Manayunk/Norristown Line service resumes — somewhat

Power line problems disrupted service on SEPTA's Regional Rail system this morning and will result in some schedule changes tonight.

Power line problems disrupted service on SEPTA's Regional Rail system this morning and will result in some schedule changes tonight.

Hardest hit was the Manayunk/Norristown Line, where downed overhead power lines halted service throughout the morning.

Service resumed with the scheduled departure of a train from Center City to Elm Street at 1:26 p.m. The first inbound train was to leave Elm Street at 2:32 p.m.

But normal service will operate only until 6:10 p.m., SEPTA said. After that, service will operate on a special, two-hour schedule so repairs can be made to the downed wires.

SEPTA said the special schedule will be available about 4 p.m. and posted at www.septa.org.

SEPTA also cited power problems for causing delays of up to one hour in both directions on the Warminster and Lansdale/Doylestown Lines throughout morning.
