Risa Vetri Ferman was named a Woman of Worth by L'Oreal Paris. The program, in its seventh year, has honored 70 women who advocate for causes in their communities.
Ferman co-founded Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team response to child abuse. Child abuse victims now go to the facility where they report their story once to specially trained interviewers, according to the district attorneys office.
A $25,000 prize will be awarded by L'Oreal to the honoree who receives the most online votes. The public can vote once a day between Nov. 5 through Nov. 21 at womenofworth.com
