SEPTA train kills person in Bristol

A person was struck and killed by a SEPTA train near the Bristol Regional Rail station this morning.

The person was hit by an inbound train on the Trenton Line shortly before 8:30 a.m., SEPTA spokeswoman Kristin Geiger said.

Geiger said she didn't know whether the person intentionally stepped in front of the train or the incident was an accident.

No information about the person's age or gender was available.

SEPTA riders experienced delays for more than two hours; normal service resumed at about 11 a.m.

Bristol police are investigating. A dispatcher said she didn't have details about the circumstances of the incident.
