Delran man killed crossing Rt. 130

A man was struck and killed Saturday morning as he crossed Route 130 in Burlington County.

The man, identified by Delran Township Police as Thomas Rooney 3rd of Delran, was hit by a car as he crossed Route 130 near Tenby Chase Drive at 12:50 a.m. He was treated at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, where he later died from his injuries.

Charges have not been filed against the driver, James Hummel, of Willingboro.

The accident briefly shut down Route 130 North.

Delran Township Police Department continue to investigate.
