Philadelphia shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 wounded

One person was dead and two were wounded in a shooting that took place on the 4800 block of Chester Avenue in West Philadelphia shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday night, police reported.

No details on the incident were immediately available. Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.

Hospital officials did not respond to requests for comment.
