Man killed, mother injured in Kensington blaze

A man was killed and his elderly mother was injured in a house fire Friday night in the city's Kensington section, Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said.

The blaze was reported about 9:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of East Madison Street. The woman was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Her son's body was found inside the three-story house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.   - Robert Moran
