Gunfire erupted on the hospice floor of an Allentown hospital today leaving two people dead, according to reports.

Gunfire erupted on the hospice floor of an Allentown hospital today leaving two people dead.

Police rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital about 1 p.m. after receiving a report of gunshots.

District Attorney Jim Martin said a man shot and killed his wife and then himself. The couple was not immediately identified.

An unidentified woman said she was on the fourth floor visiting her mother when she heard shots.

"We got out in the nick of time," she told The Morning Call.
