Police chase through Pennsylvania and Delaware ends in crash

A police chase that wound through parts of Pennsylvania and Delaware Sunday morning has ended with the car that was being pursued slamming into a fire hydrant in a residential area in New Castle County and the driver taken into custody.

A police chase that wound through parts of Pennsylvania and Delaware Sunday morning has ended with the car that was being pursued slamming into a fire hydrant in a residential area in New Castle County and the driver taken into custody.

The incident took place around 10 a.m., with the pursuit involving Pennsylvania State Police, New Castle County Police and Upper Chichester Police, according to Inquirer photographer Elizabeth Robertson, who witnessed the chase.

At one point, it went through the parking lot of the Acme Shopping Center at Foulk and Naamans Roads. The chase ended on Zebley Road.

More details later on the man taken into custody and whether anyone was injured.
