An 11-year-old boy suffered a graze wound from a stray bullet Monday evening while sitting on a bicycle outside his grandmother's house, police said.

Shortly after 6 p.m. in the 2500 block of North Ninth Street, the boy was struck on the left side of his torso, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. The boy was transported by police to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he was listed in stable condition. The bullet was found at the scene.

Around the same time, a 33-year-old man was found shot and critically wounded a few blocks away at Eighth Street and Allegheny Avenue, Small said. Police discovered the victim lying next to a rental car that had been shot up.

The shooting apparently took place in the 2700 block of Germantown Avenue and the victim drove to Eighth and Allegheny before collapsing, police said. He was taken to Temple University Hospital.
