SOUDERTON Students and staff were evacuated from Souderton Area High School in Montgomery County due to a bomb scare Monday, a district administrator said.
Maryellen Brousseau, an administrator at the Souderton Area School District, said a message was found around 10 a.m. in bathroom at the high school, and it "suggested that there was a bomb in a bathroom at the school."
Students, faculty and staff were evacuated to the stadium area for about two hours. Around noon, the school declared a half-day and canceled all extracurricular activities for the day.
Police and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the building for four hours before declaring it safe, the district said.
