Earlier Story:

A 27-year-old pedestrian was critically injured when a nearby car crash pushed him over an elevated section of Walnut Street, police said.

A Toyota Camry was driving west on Walnut Street and hit a Mercury Montego going south on 30th Street just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

The Montego spun out of control and hit a wall, police said. That caused the pedestrian to fall from the elevated section of Walnut Street - a 60-foot drop to the ground below, police said.

The injured man was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in severe critical condition. The driver of the Montego was also taken to Penn in critical condition, with head injuries and possible broken legs.

No arrests had been made, police said.
