A person was struck by an Amtrak train Monday afternoon in Delaware County, disrupting Amtrak and SEPTA Regional Rail service in the area, authorities said.

The incident was reported at 6:16 p.m. at SEPTA's Marcus Hook station, a Delaware County dispatcher said. The person was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center. No further information about the person was available.

Amtrak reported that service was suspended between Philadelphia and Washington. SEPTA reported that service on the northbound Wilmington/Newark Line was delayed. - Robert Moran
