A 20-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting Wednesday in a parking lot in front of the Dell Music Center, where an antiviolence concert was underway, police said.

Around 8:35 p.m., "this victim had an argument that turned into a physical fight," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The other man, described as in his late teens, pulled out a large-caliber handgun and fired two times, striking the victim in the stomach and thigh, Small said. The victim was rushed by police to Temple University Hospital. The shooter fled in a white vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Impala.

There were about 600 spectators inside the concert at the music center located in Fairmount Park next to the city's Strawberry Mansion section. Small said it was not immediately known whether the victim or the shooter had attended the concert, which was called "Philly Support Philly: Peace on the Streets" and ended around 9 p.m. - Robert Moran
